It just seems like there's more questions now than when I started playing the game. What did burning the flowers have to do with anything? Were the souls of the dead stuck in the flowers or something?ĭon't take this the wrong way, I really enjoyed the game and it felt like I was really solving a mystery. Wasn't there a grey version of him? (when Kathy was dreaming one night she had a dream and the bald guy was grey) I think in one of the dreams there was a red and a grey guy talking to each other. Was that boy Kathy's son? Did she have an abortion? Is the Crimson One like some kind of servant to a cthulhu like god? Didn't Joseph (or Lily) say there was more than one those Crimson guys? How come the Crimson One didn't try to stop Kathy burning the flowers, it seemed a little anti-climactic after he appeared on the tv screens. I mean I guess that was probably the intention but it still felt a little unsatisfying because of how cryptic it was. This may be the right place and right time now for Kathy Rain: Directors Cut, as troves of gamers, prefer their indie games over more hyped releases.But the ending was pretty confusing. The second time around, it feels what prevented users from taking any interest has been fixed. The first run of Kathy Rain was fantastic, featuring a compelling story and a nostalgic flair for 90s adventure games. It's been a maximum effort to make Kathy Rain more accessible. Visuals have been improved, controller support added, and there are even more puzzles to engage with. Even though the original's intention was to spark the classic gameplay of the genre. The point-and-click mechanics feel more streamlined for the modern screen. The core changes to open up to a new audience come in interface and gameplay tweaks, though. The soundtrack that accompanies the game has also been extended, giving slightly more sound diversity than before. Kathy Rain's story was already excellent, but now it arguably does feel even more accessible.
One of the most significant mentions is that it features an extended story with hundreds of new dialogue options to better engage players. So what is different that's going to change the game for Kathy Rain: Director's Cut? Alas, both publishers and developers haven't given up on it! There are quite a wealth of new features to this pixelated point-and-click adventure. Sometimes it's a shame to see a game that hit critical acclaim miss out with the public.
